The Kankakee Valley Park District has 14 full-time
employees, 5 part-time and approximately 150 seasonal employees at
various times throughout the year to operate its programs and
facilities. We are always looking for talented and energetic individuals
to be a part of our team! From youths seeking their first job to
specifically skilled adult program leaders, there are many positions to
choose from.
Seasonal Part-time Positions: Camp Supervisors and
Counselors, Soccer Referees, Program Instructors, Lifeguards and Swim
Instructors, Head Lifeguards, Admissions and Concessions Staff, Softball
Grounds Crew, and Maintenance.

off your completed application. Front Desk Hours are: M-F 8:00am – 5:30
pm.

The Park District receives hundreds of applications each year and
unfortunately there are a limited number of positions available. You
will be contacted for an interview if you are being considered for a
position. If you applied for a specific position that was advertised you
should receive notification of your status. If you do not hear from us,
you most likely are not being considered at the present time. Due to the
volume we receive, we do not generally respond to unsolicited
applications. Applications are kept on file for one year and are
categorized by position. If a position becomes available we will review
current applications on file first. After one year, applicants will need
to reapply.
If you apply for employment with the Kankakee Valley Park District,
the Park District will conduct a criminal background check upon you, as
required by Illinois State Law. You will be required to sign a Mandatory
Criminal Background Check Form at the time an offer is made. The Park
District is required by law to obtain criminal conviction information
from the Illinois State Police on all prospective employees. According
to this statute, the Park District may not employ a person from whom a
criminal background investigation has not been initiated. There are
certain convictions that will automatically disqualify you from
employment.
It is the policy of the Kankakee Valley Park District to provide a safe,
productive, and drug-free work environment. The park district
participates in a random drug screening program. You may be asked at
any time to submit to a random drug screen. In the event of an
accident, you may also be asked to submit for testing.
